OU Blows Chance for a National Title

Okay, listen up everyone. Here's how the #4 team completely blows its chance at the National Title by losing to a 7-4 team. First, make sure you're completely unprepared to defend an all-pass offense whom you've defended well the last 5 or more seasons. Next, make sure your backup quarterback is not ready for game action. That way, when your starter goes down you don't have an adequate backup. (No offense to Halzle, apparently he played better after most of us turned it off. But it was too late.) And don't even think about playing that highly touted freshman QB who's sitting on the bench, he may actually do something worthwhile. Also, don't try any trick plays when your down by 20 points because that's just too risky.

OU's chances at the National Championship were very good going into Saturday night. All they had to do was win three games. Too much to ask of this team apparently. I, and others, have grossly overestimated this team. I wouldn't want to see this team play LSU in the title game. Too embarrassing.

The rest of the season is soured now. Bedlam? Who cares. Big 12 Championship? Big deal. Win or lose, the Sooners won't be adding another National Championship trophy to the case this year. Maybe next year.
