Sooner Season Just Weeks Away

FOOTBALL IS HERE!!!

The time is upon us Sooner fans. Fall practice starts this monday, single-game tickets go on sale friday, and the opening kickoff is only four weeks away! There is NO better time of the year than these next few months. Glorious, glorious football will soon be here.

It's time for the 2008 Oklahoma Sooners to begin their quest for their third straight Big 12 Championship. The season opener is August 30th against Division I-AA 'Nooga. Let's hope this game doesn't get us in the schedule strength debate later in the year. We must and will obliterate this team.

This Sooner squad will be out to prove once again, that the season-ending bowl loss to West Virginia was flukish and far from being a reflection of the talent and ability that abounds this team. This team is straight up loaded and will be gunning for NC #8 in '08. Actually the NC will take place in '09, but whatever
The consensus of talking heads in the media have OU ranked in the top five. I forget where we started last year, maybe seven? But this year I have seen the Sooners ranked as high as #2. (Yes, I'm counting EA Sports College Football 2009 as an official ranking source).



These are high times again for Sooner fans. We can taste another run at the title. Fingers crossed that we don't have those "hiccup" games that plagued us in 2007. This team should be more mature and focused than last year's.
